About it

The question worth asking about an air fryer is not how many functions it has. It is whether a drawer holds enough to feed the people at your table. Each of these two holds 1.4 kg of chips, or a 2 kg chicken — 9.5 litres between them, up to eight portions in one go.

That is the difference between an appliance that supplements the oven and one that replaces it on a weeknight. The two drawers run independently. Different food, different temperature, different timer in each, and the panel will hold the shorter one back so both land together — which is the part that turns two baskets into one meal rather than two things you have to time yourself.

The range is wider than most: 40 °C at the bottom, 240 °C at the top. The low end is for drying herbs, fruit or jerky over a few hours; the top end is hotter than the fan setting on most domestic ovens, which is where crisping actually happens. Six functions cover it — air fry, extra-crisp, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate — on 2470 watts, through a touch panel rather than a dial.

It is a real object on a worktop: 41.5 cm wide, 32.5 cm tall, 27 cm deep, and 8.8 kg, so measure before you commit to where it lives. Both drawers and both crisper plates are non-stick and go in the dishwasher, and a pair of silicone tongs comes with it for getting things out of a hot basket.

What you get, in the order it matters

  • Two independent 4.75 litre drawers — 9.5 litres in total, up to eight portions in one go
  • Each drawer takes 1.4 kg of chips or a 2 kg chicken, so it feeds a table rather than a person
  • Temperature runs from 40 °C for dehydrating up to 240 °C for crisping
  • Six functions: air fry, extra-crisp, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate
  • Both drawers and both crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe
  • 2470 watts through a touch panel, with a separate time and temperature readout for each zone
  • Silicone tongs included; 41.5 cm wide, 32.5 cm tall, 27 cm deep and 8.8 kg on the worktop

Capacity is the spec that actually decides things

Four litres sounds fine until you are cooking for four. Each drawer here holds 1.4 kg of chips or a 2 kg chicken, 9.5 litres across the two, and up to eight portions at once. That is the line between an air fryer that does the side dish and one that does dinner, and it is the number worth checking before any of the others.

Two zones, and the panel does the timing

Each drawer has its own temperature, its own timer and its own display. Set chips at one setting and chicken thighs at another, and the shorter side is held back so both finish at the same moment. You are not standing over it doing arithmetic, and you are not serving one thing warm while the other catches up.

40 °C to 240 °C is a wider job than crisping

The bottom of the range is dehydrator territory — herbs, fruit, jerky over a few hours at 40 °C. The top, 240 °C, is above the fan setting on most domestic ovens, which is what puts a proper edge on roast potatoes. Six functions sit between the two: air fry, extra-crisp, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate, all on 2470 watts.

The parts you clean go in the dishwasher

Both drawers and both crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe, which is the whole of the washing-up. A pair of silicone tongs comes in the box for lifting food out of a basket that has just been at 240 °C. Wipe the outside and you are done.

  • The 240 top end is the bit nobody mentions

Most of these stop around 200 and you can tell — things come out pale. At 240 the potatoes actually blister. I have also used the 40 setting to dry pear slices overnight, which I bought it for as an afterthought and now do most weeks. Touch panel is clear, one display per drawer, no guessing.

  • Cooks brilliantly, but measure your worktop first

No complaints about the cooking at all. But it is 41.5 cm wide and 8.8 kg, and I did not properly take that in before ordering — it does not fit under my wall units, so it lives out on the counter permanently and takes a real chunk of it. If your kitchen is tight, get the tape measure out before you buy. I would still buy it again, just with my eyes open.

  • Finally one where a drawer fits a real chicken

We had a single-basket one before and it did chips and nothing else. A whole chicken goes in one side of this and roast potatoes in the other, and Sunday lunch happens without the oven going on at all. The sync means I stopped setting timers on my phone. Kitchen stays cool too, which in a small flat in July is not nothing.

  • Dishwasher-safe drawers make it a weeknight thing

The reason it gets used four nights a week rather than at weekends is that the clean-up is two drawers and two plates into the dishwasher. Previous one had a basket that had to be hand-washed and it slowly stopped getting used. Only gripe is that you do need to shake the drawer halfway for chips, which is not automatic.

Questions worth asking

How much food does it actually hold?

Each drawer takes up to 1.4 kg of chips or a 2 kg chicken, and the two together are 9.5 litres — up to eight portions. The drawers are 4.75 litres each and work independently.

Can the two drawers cook different things at once?

Yes. Each has its own temperature, timer and display, and the panel holds the shorter side back so both finish together. You can also run them on matched settings when you are cooking one thing across both.

What temperatures does it reach?

40 °C at the low end, which is for dehydrating, up to 240 °C for crisping — hotter than the fan setting on most domestic ovens. It runs on 2470 watts.

How big is it and will it fit under my cupboards?

41.5 cm wide, 32.5 cm tall and 27 cm deep, weighing 8.8 kg. Standard worktop-to-cupboard clearance varies, so measure the height you have before ordering — it is the most common thing people wish they had checked.

How do I clean it?

Both drawers and both crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe. The outside wipes down.

What comes with it?

The air fryer with a UK plug, two 4.75 litre non-stick drawers, two crisper plates and a pair of silicone tongs.
